Upcoming 2011

After a year of preparation, painting and hard work, I am so thrilled to announce that my second book, Histories, will be released on Friday, November 4th, which is also the opening of my solo exhibition of the same name. Please join us at Nahcotta Gallery in Portsmouth, NH, www.nahcotta.com, from 5-8pm! This publication and exhibit are of particular significance to me because of the incredibly challenging nature of this book project and the last year of painting—I’ve held nothing back, the honesty imbued in these works and writing has scared me, made me want to quit, and left me feeling more vulnerable than any other time in my art practice. I hope that this book will offer people insight into the mind and heart that shapes my work.

Don’t miss the November /December issue of Artscope! Linda Chestney has covered the show and my book in this issue, I can’t wait to read it! Please check out more information on the book here. The exhibit will run from November 2nd through the 27th.

I am so pleased to announce that I will be participating in another exhibit this November. Peter Alpers, of Alpers Fine Art, www.alpersfineartonline.com, has invited me to participate in (Largely) Small Works, a group exhibition at Gallery 1581 at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis. I find this venue to be especially intriguing and relevant because of the psychological themes that run through my work. I am also honored to be working with Alpers Fine Art amongst so much talent. This exhibit runs from November 21st through January 21st, with an opening reception on December 2nd, 5-8pm at Gallery 1581.

More amazing news! I was selected to receive a Finalist Grant as a result of my application for the Piscataqua Region Artist Advancement Grant. Congratulations to the winner and other finalists! And thank you to the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation for their sincere and continued support of local arts. As a part of my award, I will participate in a group exhibition this spring at the George Marshall Store Gallery in York, Maine, www.georgemarshallstoregallery.com Please check back this winter for more details.

If you haven’t seen this yet, check it out! On Wednesday June 15th, NH Chronicle ran a story on the art collector Hilda Fleisher. One of my paintings is lucky enough to be a part of her collection and received some noteworthy attention. Please check out the link and look for my piece at approximately 1min 20sec. http://www.wmur.com/chronicle/28196942/detail.html

Cheers,
